3/4 cup vinegar
3/4 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon ketchup
2 cloves garlic
1/2 to 3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/3 teaspoon each salt, celery salt, onion salt
Blend everything in a blender until thick. This is a sweet dressing similar to a Russian or a Catalina dressing, so use only a tablespoon on lettuce or cole slaw.
Sugar can be reduced if you start with a smaller amount and add more as you like. If too vinegary, add water. The original recipe given to me had 3 teaspoons of salt (1 each salt, celery salt, onion salt) but I reduced it to less than a total of 1 teaspoon because that's what we're doing these days. You should taste it and adjust to your own preference.
